Speaker Biographies

Michael Andersen, PT, DPT, OCS, GCS

Dr. Michael Andersen is the course director and hybrid lead for Musculoskeletal Assessment and Management of Musculoskeletal conditions at the University of Southern California. He also serves as Director of Faculty Services and Development and contributes to USC’s DPT program through various committees. A practicing physical therapist since 2002, he has experience in outpatient orthopedics, pain management, and acute care. Board-certified in orthopedics and geriatrics, he researches hybrid education, professional mentoring, and student feedback. Outside of teaching, he enjoys cooking, photography, and time with family.


Jesse Anderson, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Jesse Anderson is an orthopaedic physical therapist at the University of Illinois Health, University Village. He earned his DPT from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2018, orthopaedic physical therapy residency training at The Ohio State University Sports Medicine in 2019, and Northwestern University’s Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, Research and Education in 2022. In addition to clinical practice, he holds various educational and mentorship roles at the DPT and fellowship levels. He is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Aditi Gupte, PT, MPT is an experienced outpatient orthopedic physical therapist specializing in manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, and concussion management. With over eight years in the field, she focuses on evidence-based, hands-on treatment to optimize recovery. An active California Board of Physical Therapy member and Golden Gate District representative, Aditi advocates for innovation in rehabilitation. Passionate about neuromuscular recovery, she helps patients regain balance, stability, and confidence in movement through personalized, cutting-edge therapy.

Meredith Atkenson, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Meredith Atkenson is an orthopaedic physical therapist at the University of Illinois Health, Outpatient Care Center. She earned her DPT from Marquette University in 2018, orthopaedic physical therapy residency training at Northwestern University- Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in 2020, and Northwestern University’s Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, Research and Education in 2022. In addition, Dr. Atkenson is a certified lymphedema therapist who specializes in treating patients post- surgery and radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.


Cody Ballay, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Cody Ballay PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is a physical therapist at Duke Health and co-coordinator for Duke’s Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship. Cody practices at the Duke Health Cary Sports clinic and sees a variety of conservative and post-operative orthopedic and sports conditions. He completed DPT and residency training in orthopedics at The Ohio State University graduating in 2021 and 2022, respectively, prior to completing Duke’s Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship in 2024. He also is a teaching assistant in Duke University’s DPT program and has clinical interests in treatment of spine conditions and post-operative shoulder and knee rehabilitation.


Dustin Barrett, PT, DPT, Dsc, OCS, Cert MDT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Barrett is an assistant professor at East Tennessee State in Johnson City, TN. Dr. Barrett received his Doctorate in Science from Bellin College in 2024 and completed his fellowship through East Tennessee State University in 2019. He is a board-certified clinical specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He practiced as an acute care and outpatient physical therapist for 13 years before moving into full-time academia in 2020. He currently teaches in the musculoskeletal and anatomy course series and his research interests include the psychosocial aspects of patient care.


Jason Beneciuk, PT, DPT, PhD, MPH, FAAOMPT

Jason Beneciuk, PT, DPT, PhD, MPH, FAAOMPT Research Associate Professor, Department of Physical Therapy, University of Florida Director of Musculoskeletal Research, Clinical Research Scientist, Brooks Rehabilitation Jason Beneciuk is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Florida and Director of Musculoskeletal Research at Brooks Rehabilitation. He has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, the Center on Health Services Training and Research, and the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. His research interests focus on musculoskeletal pain, psychologically informed practice, implementation science, and health services research. He teaches evidence-based practice in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Florida. He also teaches related content in the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning and UF Health Jacksonville residency and fellowship programs. Dr. Beneciuk is an Associate Editor for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Journal (PTJ) and International Editorial Review Board member for the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy (JOSPT). In 2021, Dr. Beneciuk was a recipient of the Eugene Michels New Investigator Award by the American Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Beneciuk is a current CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow.


Jason Beneciuk, DPT, PhD, MPH

Dr. Jason M. Beneciuk is a distinguished physical therapist specializing in musculoskeletal pain and rehabilitation. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2002 and completed an Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship in 2006, both at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. In 2011, he obtained a PhD in Rehabilitation Science and a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on epidemiology from the University of Florida, where he was supported by a National Institutes of Health T32 pre-doctoral fellowship. BROOKSIHL.ORG Dr. Beneciuk currently serves as a Research Associate Professor at the University of Florida and is affiliated with Brooks Rehabilitation, contributing extensively to research on musculoskeletal pain and rehabilitation.


Hollis Bixby, PT, DPT

Hollis Bixby, PT, DPT, OCS is a Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Duke Health in Cary, NC, where she has worked for the past seven years. Specializing in treating athletic populations, Hollis has a particular interest in gymnastics medicine. Currently Hollis serves as adjunct faculty at Campbell University DPT program, core faculty for Duke Hybrid Orthopedic Residency, and course directs a Therapeutic Exercise course for Duke DPT. In addition to her teaching and clinical roles, Hollis is currently pursuing her Manual Therapy Fellowship with Regis University, further deepening her expertise in advanced manual therapy techniques and clinical reasoning.


Chris Boyer, PT, DPT, OCS, Dip. MDT

Chris is a direct access physical therapist and brigade injury control director in the U.S. Army. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the U.S. Army-Baylor program in 2018 and became a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in 2021. He completed the Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy in 2023 and has been an Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy fellow-in-training with the McKenzie Institute USA (MIUSA) since 2024. Chris has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and is currently serving a probationary term as MIUSA faculty in a private capacity.


Caitlin Boyko, PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT, CSCS

Dr. Caitlin Boyko, PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT, CSCS, is an orthopedic physical therapist and educator. She is the Director of Clinical Education at Kean University’s Department of Physical Therapy. Her research is centered around integrating technology into clinical education and evidence-based orthopedic practice. A Rutgers DPT graduate, she completed Regis University’s OMPT Fellowship in 2024, and actively practices in New Jersey. Most recently, she was elected to the AAOMPT’s Academic and Clinical Faculty SIG’s nominating committee, and serves as co-chair of the PR committee for the NY/NJ Clinical Education Consortium.


Jonathan Bray, PT, DPT, EdD, MS, FAAOMPT

Jonathan received his Master of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College. He has completed he his Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy with MTI and is recognized as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Jonathan completed his Doctorate in Education with a concentration in organizational leadership from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Jonathan is the Assistant Program Director and an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Miami campus.


James Camarinos, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Camarinos, “Cam”, is the Clinic Director at the Boston University Physical Therapy Center (BUPTC) and adjunct professor in the Physical Therapy (PT) Department at Boston University (BU). Cam is the Program Director of the BU Orthopaedic PT Residency Program and a faculty member in BU’s Orthopaedic Manual PT Fellowship programs. He teaches Health Care Management in the DPT program and in clinical orthopaedic DPT courses. Cam received his DPT from Boston University in 2009. He completed post-professional manual physical therapy fellowship training at the Institute of Manual Therapy in Woburn, MA. He became a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2012. Cam has provided administrative support for clinical trials implemented within the out-patient practice of BUPTC. Cam has presented locally and nationally on topics related to musculoskeletal conditions, quality improvement and patient reported outcomes.


Christopher J. Centeno, MD

Christopher J. Centeno, M.D. is an international expert and specialist in Interventional Orthopedics and the clinical use of bone marrow concentrate in orthopedics. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a subspecialty of pain medicine through The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Centeno is one of the few physicians in the world with extensive experience in the culture expansion of and clinical use of adult bone marrow concentrate to treat orthopedic injuries. His clinic incorporates a variety of revolutionary pain management techniques to bring its broad patient base relief and results. Dr. Centeno treats patients from all over the US who travel to Colorado to undergo innovative, non-surgical treatments. Dr. Centeno has chaired multiple international research-based conferences. He also maintains an active research-based practice, with multiple publications listed in the US National Library of Medicine. Dr. Centeno has also served as editor-in-chief of a medical research journal dedicated to traumatic injury. Dr. Centeno trained at the Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Medical Center, and the Institute for Rehabilitation Research. He hails from both Florida and New York and currently resides in Boulder, Colorado with his wife and three children.


Derek Charles, PT, DPT, EdD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Charles is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Tennessee State University, teaching MSK-related courses. He is also an ABPTS Orthopedic Specialist and AAOMPT Fellow. Dr. Charles is actively involved in the APTA-TN as the Research Committee Chair and has previously served as the Reimbursement, Practice, and Nominating Committee Chair. He has multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented nationally, including CSM, NEXT, and the AAOMPT Annual Conference. He treats patients in the pro-bono TSU Tiger Rehab Clinic and serves as a Clinical Instructor.

Derek Clewley, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Derek Clewley is an assistant professor at Duke University in the department of physical therapy and Coordinator for Duke Hybrid Orthopedic Residency. He earned his Masters degree in physical therapy from the University of Montana, DPT from Shenandoah University, has achieved board certification in orthopaedics, and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is a PhD candidate at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and his primary research interests include manual physical therapy, dry needling, clinical reasoning, and health seeking behavior. Dr. Clewley has presented at a number of state and national conferences.

Christina Cuka, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT

Christina Cuka PT, DPT, DSc, is an assistant professor and core faculty in the DPT program at Hawai’i Pacific University. She teaches Human Anatomy and Musculoskeletal. During her 20+ years of practice, Dr. Cuka previously worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting treating musculoskeletal disorders. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, and a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is certified in manual therapy, trigger point dry needing and scoliosis. Dr. Cuka has presented at state and national conferences on teaching and learning, the cervical spine, and scoliosis.


Amber Custodi, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, CSCS

Dr. Amber Custodi, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, CSCS is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. She serves as the program coordinator for the Brooks Orthopaedic Residency Program in Orlando, FL, and contributes to the Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration as a musculoskeletal research coordinator. In addition to her residency and research roles, Dr. Custodi continues to treat patients part-time in the clinic. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Daemen College in Amherst, NY, in 2021 and went on to complete an Orthopaedic Residency (2022) and Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (2024) through Brooks Rehabilitation. Dr. Custodi is actively involved in professional education, serving as a Clinical Instructor for DPT students, a mentor in the Brooks Clinical Practice Enhancement Program, and a guest lecturer. She has presented at both state and national conferences and holds additional certifications in strength and conditioning, blood flow restriction training, and trigger point dry needling.


Ewa Czajkowska, PT, DPT, GCS, FAAOMPT

Ewa W. Czajkowska is a physical therapist with expertise in orthopedic and manual therapy. Educated in Europe, she earned a Masters of Physical Therapy before advancing her training in the United States with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and Board-Certified Geriatric Specialist, Ewa maintains a practice rooted in evidence-based methodologies and an innovative, patient-focused approach.


Matthew Daugherty, PT, DPT,DBA, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Matthew Daugherty is an associate professor at USAHS and the Director of Residency Programs. He received his Manual Therapy Certification 2009 and completed his AAOMPT fellowship 2010. In 2012, he became an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Florida Physical Therapy Association, the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, the AAOMPT, and the ABPTS Specialization Academy of Content Experts (SACE). He has served as a state delegate for the APTA, the district chair of the FPTA, and is part of the APTA’s Grassroots Advocacy Network. Dr. Daugherty has presented his scholarship at AAOMPT and AOTA national conferences, the APTA Combined Sections Meeting, and FPTA conferences. He has published in both the physical therapy and business realms and is also the author of numerous book chapters. He completed his Doctor of Business Administration in 2018.


Mary Derrick-Manis, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Mary Derrick-Manis is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at the University of Utah, where she teaches Musculoskeletal Assessment and Management. Her research explores how curriculum influences DPT students' low back pain beliefs and compares educational experiences across different learning formats. She completed her Orthopedic Fellowship at Bellin College (formerly Evidence in Motion). With experience in orthopedic and pain management across private practice and larger healthcare systems, she has taught at all levels of DPT education in hybrid formats since 2017.


Megan Donaldson, PT, PhD, FAAOMPT

Megan Donaldson, PT, Ph.D., FAAOMPT, is a tenured professor at the Medical University of South Carolina and is the Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). She completed the Higher Education Leadership Fellowship from the APTA in 2021. She has acquired external funding for her research. She has contributed routinely to scholarship with peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations of musculoskeletal health, patient-centered care approaches, and manual therapy topics nationally and internationally. Nationally, she has served as the chief Delegate for the Ohio Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and she currently serves as the President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.


Alison Duncombe, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr Alison Duncombe is a physical therapist with more than 30 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics at UI Health in Chicago. She received her BS in physiotherapy in London, her DPT at Des Moines University, and completed her Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006. She has taught evaluation and management of temporomandibular disorders in DPT and fellowship programs and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Brittany Etrick, PT, DPT

Dr. Brittany Etrick, PT, DPT is a current Fellow in training at the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning. Brittany completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Florida and her Orthopaedic Residency through Brooks Rehab. Brittany integrates her Orthopaedic manual physical therapy knowledge with her Pelvic Health population that she enjoys to serve. She currently practices at Brooks Rehab in Yulee, Florida. Her areas of interest include the lumbar and cervical spine and pelvic floor dysfunction.


Kevin Farrell, PT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Kevin is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy and a Fellow of AAOMPT. He received his bachelor’s degree in Natural Science and Mathematics with a minor in education at St. Ambrose University. He received his certificate in physical therapy and PhD from the University of Iowa. He is Professor Emeritus at St. Ambrose University and served as the Chair of the Clinical Residency program in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from 2006 – 2022, teaching numerous manual therapy courses with numerous publications and professional presentations. Kevin the is the current program director for Evidence in Motion’s Orthopedic Residency.


Kyle Feldman, PT DPT OCS CSCS FAAOMPT

Dr. Kyle Feldman graduated from Shenandoah University. He is the National Director of ReEnvision Physical Therapy which as a company focuses on improving the access and quality of physical therapy care. He also owns WE ARE Physiotherapy focused on education of physical therapists. Dr. Feldman teaches at Shenandoah University, faculty in the VOMPTI Orthopedic Residency program, injury prevention specialist with O2X, and mentors physical therapy students, residents, and fellows. He has mentored and taught therapists all over the world including Kenya, Ghana, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Haiti. 


Roy Film, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Roy directs the fellowship program at the University of Maryland with a dual appointment in Orthopaedics and Physical Therapy. He teaches orthopaedics and pain management to entry-level doctoral students, residents, and fellows, and physician assistants. Roy studies nonpharmaceutical pain management approaches to mitigate opioid prescribing rates. He is AAOMPT’s Secretary and APTA Maryland’s President. He has served on the World Health Organization’s Peer Review Group for Musculoskeletal Conditions and as a taskforce leader for US Army MEDCOM’s National Opioid Crisis Community Summit. He works with the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine’s education workgroup focused on influencing medical school curricula.


Tim Flynn, PT PhD OCS FAAOMPT FAPTA

Dr. Flynn is widely published with over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts on musculoskeletal disorders and chronic spinal pain. He has received numerous professional awards. Dr. Flynn is a past President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is a world-renowned clinician and speaker whose primary clientele includes individuals suffering from complex clinical presentations, failed surgeries, and chronic pain disorders. Dr. Flynn is passionate about ensuring that our citizens receive true health care which maximizes the ability to be fit and have vitality throughout their life. Diana Garrett, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, CLT, CSCS

Diana graduated from the University of California - Davis with a BS in Exercise Biology and experience in the athletic training program working with collegiate athletes. She then went on to the University of Southern California where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2009. Diana furthered her expertise through continuing education and became a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in 2013 and received her training in lymphedema management in 2015. Diana became a Certified Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapist through NAIOMT in 2022 and completed the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Fellowship through NAIOMT in 2023. Currently, at Providence Saint John's Health Center Diana specializes in oncology rehabilitation and orthopedics. Through her attention to biomechanics and musculoskeletal dysfunction, she brought a unique approach to physical therapy care for breast cancer patients. Diana was named Program Director of Physical Therapy Services for the Women's Health and Wellness Institute. She leads the physical therapy team to provide integrative services for women across the healthcare continuum, including pregnancy and post-partum, pelvic floor therapy, and cancer survivorship. Diana is eager to continue to bridge the gap in physical therapy between orthopedics and oncology in order to meet the unique needs of this patient population


Mary Beth Geiser, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Mary Beth Geiser is active in her profession as an educator (multiple universities), a clinician (Aurora Sports Health & SCORE Advantage LLC), a volunteer (APTA CPG Group, AAOMPT SIG officer, and Marquette’s ComMUnity Clinic), and as an advocate (for state/national issues, and the underserved). She has 34 years of clinical practice and 26 years of experience in various academic roles (working in DPT, Residency, and Fellowship programs). As a Fellow (2014) and a board-certified specialist (OCS 1999-Present), Dr. Geiser has received recognition or awards from several institutions (AOPT/APTA Centennial Scholar, APTA Wisconsin, Regis University, and Aurora Healthcare).


Liam Globensky, PT, DPT, OCS

Dr. Liam Globensky, PT, DPT, OCS, is a dedicated orthopaedic physical therapist produced from the Brooks Rehabilitation Institute of Higher Learning with a passion for helping others regain movement and function. Current fellow in training and board-certified orthopedic specialty, he has interests in manual therapy, professional growth, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. With experience in clinical practice, education, and mentorship, he enjoys sharing knowledge and learning from peers.


Kristina Griffin, PT, DPT

Dr. Griffin is an orthopedic physical therapist with 14 years of experience at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. She splits her time between Shirley Ryan and Northwestern University’s Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Science, where she teaches in the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Residency, and Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy programs. Dr. Griffin also coordinates and mentors Northwestern’s Orthopedic Residency, Fellowship, and Sports Fellowship programs. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University and completed fellowship training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Griffin has published on orthopedic topics in reputable journals.


Nick Gulla, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Nicholas Gulla is a dedicated physical therapist committed to patient care. He completed his Orthopedic Residency and OMPT Fellowship at The Ohio State University, where he now serves as faculty and mentor for both programs. He is also a guest lecturer for OSU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and the Division of Athletic Training. A published author, his most recent work, "Concussion Rehabilitation Through a Cervical Spine Intervention Lens: A Scoping Review," was released this year. He also co-hosted The Postdoc PT Experience podcast, highlighting the benefits of residency and fellowship training in physical therapy.


Aditi Gupte, MPT

Aditi Gupte, PT, MPT is an experienced outpatient orthopedic physical therapist specializing in manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, and concussion management. Josh Halfpap, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Josh Halfpap is an Assistant Clinical Professor, and Assistant Director of Clinical Education in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Bowling Green State University. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (2011) and Doctor of Science in Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy (2018) degrees from the U.S. Army-Baylor University. He is an ABPTS board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists. He joined the faculty at BGSU in 2022 after 21 years as an active-duty military physical therapist. He has presented nationally, maintains an active research agenda, has several publications, and currently teaches in the areas of clinical reasoning, and primary care physical therapy.


Trent Harrison, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Trent Harrison, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, is the Coordinator for the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program at Brooks Institute of Higher Learning. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine and completed both an Orthopaedic Residency and an Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship at Brooks Rehabilitation/University of North Florida. John Heick, PT, DPT, OCS, NCS, SCS

Dr. John Heick is a tenured Professor at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Dr. Heick received his Ph.D. in 2015 from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Orthopaedic and Sports Science. John is board certified by ABPTS in orthopaedics, neurology, and sports. John was awarded the James A. Gould Excellence in Teaching Orthopaedics Physical Therapy Award by the Academy of Orthopaedics in 2021, the Lucy Blair Service Award by the APTA in 2021, and the Dorothy Baethke-Eleanor Carlin Excellence in Academic Teaching award by the APTA in 2023.


Joel Henderson, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Joel Henderson is a physical therapist in the United States Air Force. He graduated with his Physical Therapy degree in 2018 and subsequently worked in corporate outpatient physical therapy and as a government civilian employee at a Naval base. In 2020, Joel joined Air Force, where he worked in the second largest Military Treatment Facility in the Air Force and directed musculoskeletal care for U.S. service members and coalition forces while deployed. Currently, he is a fellow in training in the Air Force Operational Readiness Fellowship. Additionally, he has education and experience in sports performance and corporate wellness.


Gregory Johnson, PT

Gregory S. Johnson, PT, FFMT, FAAOMPT Gregory is a 1971 graduate from the University of Southern California School of Physical Therapy. Following PT school, he was accepted into a one-year Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) residency with the systems developer Maggie Knott at Kaiser Vallejo Rehabilitation Center. He remained at Kaiser as a senior PNF faculty for six years. During his time at Kaiser Vallejo, he began his extensive study of Manual Therapy approaches, including Maitland, Norwegon, Cyriax, and alternative approaches such as Rolfing, Feldenkrais, Tragger Work, Alexandar Technique, Aston Patterning, and Hellerwork. Mr. Johnson is best known for his identification of the need for Physical Therapists to integrate treatment of the facial system into manual therapy and the development of the first Soft Tissue Mobilization course (Functional Orthopedics) in 1980. In addition, He utilized his extensive background in PNF to adapt standard manual therapy techniques of Joint Mobilization and develop the dynamic techniques of Functional Mobilization™ and Resistance Enhanced Manipulation™ (REM) techniques for joints, soft tissues, and neurovascular restrictions. Mr. Johnson has trained or directed the training of over 60,000 therapists in the USA and internationally. Gregory Johnson is the co-founder with Vicky Saliba Johnson of the Institute of Physical Art and co-developer of the Functional Manual Therapy™ approach. He is the Director of a credentialed AAOMPT/ACOMPTE Fellowship program and has published multiple chapters and articles on STM, PNF, and Functional Manual Therapy™. He has also spearheaded the movement to develop successful cash-based private practices. Over the last decade, his focus has been on developing an FMT approach for enhancing autonomic nervous system function with a focus on enhancing vagus nerve function.


Alec Kay, PT, DMT, OCS, ATC, FAAOMPT

Alec initially began his career working in sports medicine at the University of California, Davis as an undergraduate where he received a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology and was Certified as an Athletic Trainer in 1988. MS in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific in 1990. He attended a 6 month full time residency in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) in Vallejo, CA, after working for several years in acute care and neurological rehabilitation. He completed post-graduate studies with a Masters of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 1997 and a Doctor of Manual Therapy degree in 2000. Alec has been active faculty with the Ola Grimsby Institute Post-Professional Consortium and is currently teaching advanced techniques in manual orthopedic physical therapy locally and in other states, as well as presenting as an invited speaker. He is the Director of the OGI Fellowship program in manual therapy. Alec is the current president of American Physical Therapy Association Alaska. Alec became an owner of United Physical Therapy in 2001 and now serves as President.


Damian Keter, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS

Dr. Damian Keter is a Physical therapist and clinical researcher for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2013 and his Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) in 2023 investigating person-centered manual therapy. Dr. Keter holds several national VA teaching positions, is a member of the Department of Veterans Affairs National Field Advisory Council, and serves on two NIH working groups related to manual therapy mechanisms. He is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and holds certifications in dry needling and chronic pain rehabilitation. Since beginning his research agenda in 2022 Dr. Keter has 15 peer reviewed publications which have been cited more than 50 times focusing on the individualized nature of patient response to manual therapies, manual therapy treatment mechanisms, teaching paradigms surrounding manual therapy, and pain science.

Josh has been a practicing physical therapist since 2007 and is a board-certified specialist in both orthopedics and sports, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a Diplomat of the McKenzie Institute, and a Fellow of the AAOMPT. Patricia (Trish) King, PT, PhD, FAAOMPT

Dr. Trish King is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at Tennessee State University. She is a Founding Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapists. Dr. King is the recipient of multiple national honors, including the APTA Lucy Blair Service Award and the James Gould Excellence in Teaching Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Award from the APTA Orthopaedic Academy. Dr. King has numerous peer-reviewed publications, and book chapters, and has presented at national and international venues. Dr. Kenneth Kirby, a board-certified orthopedic specialist and AAOMPT Fellow, has over 19 years of clinical experience. Pieter graduated from the Haagsche Academie voor Fysiotherapie in the Hague, the Netherlands, in 1986. Elizabeth Lane, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Elizabeth Lane has practiced in outpatient orthopedics since 2009and teaching in post-professional continuing education since 2013. She achieved her clinical doctorate in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Lane holds board-certification in orthopaedics (OCS) and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Utah under the direction of Julie Fritz, PT, Ph.D., FAPTA in 2020 with a focus on neuroscience education for those with chronic spinal pain. Nick LeBlond PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, LAT, FAAOMPT is a physical therapist and athletic trainer at Duke Health in Cary, NC where he has worked for 5 years. Abbey Liebert, PT, DPT, OCS

Abbey Liebert is currently a manual therapy fellow in training at Boston University with plans to finish the program in September of 2025. She completed her DPT at Boston University in 2019 and went on to complete an orthopedic residency at the University of South Florida in 2020. She obtained her board specialty in orthopedics in 2021. She was a senior clinician at an outpatient clinic in Tampa FL prior to moving to Boston to complete her fellowship. Shannon Logan, PT, DPT, PhD, ATC, MS, OCS

Shannon Logan holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Marietta College and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois, where she collaborated with collegiate wheelchair and Paralympic athletes and taught in the athletic training curriculum. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Walsh University, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana, and a PhD in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. As a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy, Shannon serves as core faculty in the Flex Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of St. Augustine’s St. Augustine, FL campus. Elaine Lonnemann, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Elaine Lonnemann, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is the Director of Curriculum and Clinical Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Hanover College in Southern Indiana. With over 35 years of experience as a physical therapist, she has combined her clinical expertise with professional service, including two terms as President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). Dr. Lonnemann has held academic leadership roles including Associate Dean and Program Director positions and has taught in DPT programs across the country. Joe Lorenzetti earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in 2004. Keri Maywhort, PT, DPT

Dr. Maywhort is a seasoned manual therapist with extensive experience integrating dry needling into her clinical practice since 1998. Since 2008, she has instructed dry needling to graduate and post-professional learners at both introductory and advanced levels. She is an adjunct faculty member at Regis University where she has helped integrate dry needling into curriculum for entry-level physical therapist students, residents, and fellows in training. She is also the co-founder of Dry Needling Academy, where she teaches post-professional dry needling continuing education courses. Dr. McDevitt is an Associate Professor in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at the University of Colorado, USA. She teaches orthopaedics to entry-level physical therapy students. Dr. Renzo Mendoza is an Orthopaedic physical therapist at the University of Illinois Health System. He serves as associated faculty at Northwestern University. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2018. Following graduation, he completed a one-year orthopaedic physical therapy residency program at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and became a board certified orthopaedic clinical specialist in 2020. Dr. Mintken lives in Denver, CO and is a Professor in the DPT education program at Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU). Prior to HPU, Dr. Mintken was faculty in the DPT Program at the University of Colorado. Dr. Mintken is a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Mintken has received the APTA Excellence in Academic Teaching Award, the Excellence in Teaching Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Award, the Rose Research Award, the JOSPT Research Award, the Chattanooga Research Award, and the Outstanding Physical Therapist Award for the State of Colorado. Dr. Mintken has over 60 peer reviewed articles. He remains clinically active as a physical therapist at Wardenburg Health Center at the University of Colorado Boulder.


Melissa Moran Tovin, PT, MA, PhD

After earning her degree in physical therapy, Dr. Melissa Moran Tovin gained clinical experience in a variety of PT settings including in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation, orthopedic and sports out-patient, home-health, school-based, and pediatrics. She is Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy. Dr. Tovin has over 30 years of experience as a physical therapy education faculty member teaching in DPT, residency and PhD programs. She joined the faculty at the University of Miami (UM) Department of Physical Therapy in 2024. She serves as the Chair of the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Special Interest Group for the APTA Academy of Research, and regularly presents nationally and internationally on the topics of qualitative research methodology, research design, and education.


Cheryl Obregón, PT, DPT, ScD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Cheryl Obregón is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Bowling Green State University. She has a broad range of clinical practice experience with the last 14 years of her practice specializing in post-operative orthopedic management. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedics. Additionally, she is certified as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist. She transitioned to academia in 2015 as an adjunct faculty teaching clinical reasoning and patient/client management. Her passion is treating long-distance runners and research interests include two-dimensional running analysis, running gait retraining, and prevention of RED-S. Dr. Obregón cares deeply about guiding the profession with concerns and interests of the LGBTQ+ community and advocating for an environment of visibility, respect, collaboration, inclusion, and equity. Her aim is to foster and create change for all LGBTQ+ patients/clients, students, and clinicians.


William O'Grady, PT, DPT, MA, FAPTA, FAAOMPT

Dr. O'Grady has lectured both nationally and internationally on manual therapy techniques. Having taught alongside renowned UK osteopath Dr. Laurie Hartman, he has instructed in multi-lever component techniques for the past 25 years. Dr. O'Grady has published several articles on spine treatment, with a focus on hypermobility, and authored chapters in orthopedic PT texts on manual therapy. Additionally, he co-authored "Thrust Joint Manipulation Skills for the Spine" with Dr. Louie Puentedura. In 1987, he was one of the original item writers for the first Orthopedic Specialty exams. Subsequently, he served as one of the four initial examiners for AAOMPT and later as its chair, overseeing the largest OSCE to date in 1999 in Orlando. He taught manual therapy at UNLV for 10 years, followed by two years at Baylor University before retiring.


Thomas Olesko, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, MTC, FAAOMPT

Thomas Olesko is a physical therapist based in Northeast Florida, dual board certified in both orthopaedics and sports physical therapy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) and a contributing faculty member in the orthopaedic curriculum at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. He has a special interest in elite-level sports rehabilitation and, in 2024, completed the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee Sports Medicine Volunteer Program, serving Team USA athletes in preparation for the Paris Games. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University and hopes to focus on advancing clinical practices in high-performance athletic rehabilitation.


Catherine Patla, PT, DHs, MS, FAPTA, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT

Catherine Patla is an associate professor and a clinical mentor. She has been a fellow of AAOMPT since 1996. Since 1996 - 2010, she has been on the AAOMPT standards committee and co-chair 2003-2008. She is active in the FPTA, both at the sub-district level, as a delegate to HOD since 2002, chief delegate from 2004-2006, and Florida chapter President from 2007-2009. She has received numerous awards including: Richard W. Bowling-Richard E. Erhard Orthopaedic Clinical Practice Award. Orthopaedic Section 2011, John McMillian Mennell service award AAOMPT 2012, Lucy Blair Service award 2017 APTA, and Catherine Worthingham Fellow APTA,2021.


Evan Petersen, PT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Evan Petersen is the Director of Research and Faculty Development and Associate Professor at the Bowling Green State University School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. He is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is an active researcher having published in The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy, European Spine Journal, and British Medical Journal. He received the Rose Excellence in Research Award from the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2021. He has presented at numerous national and international physical therapy conferences on the topics of clinical reasoning, patient/client management, and differential diagnosis. Dr. Petersen received a Doctor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Baylor University. He holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from Baylor University and a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Brigham Young University.


Emilio "Louie" Puentedura, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Puentedura has been teaching manual therapy thrust courses for over 40 years. He is a renowned national and international speaker in very high demand. He has published several major research papers in the field of manual therapy and, in fact, is a two-time Rose research winner. He has co-authored several books on pain neuroscience with Dr. Adriaan Lowe and co-authored “Joint Thrust Manipulation Skills of the Spine” with Dr. William O’Grady. He currently is a professor in the Baylor University DPT program, teaching both orthopedic manual therapy and anatomy after spending the previous 10+ years at UNLV doing the same thing.


Nick Rainey, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Nick Rainey is residency and fellowship trained in orthopaedic and manual therapy focusing on the spine. Subsequently, he pursued additional pelvic health training, focusing on contributions to lumbopelvic/hip pain. Nick maintains three practices in the picturesque Sierra Vista, Arizona: Rainey Pain & Performance, Sierra Vista Headache and TMJ Specialists, and Access Therapy. He is the lead in the hosted residency program. He takes pleasure in teaching in various capacities and mentoring students, residents, and fellows in training. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct faculty member at Tufts University-Phoenix. Nick is dedicated to advancing the profession, one provider at a time.


Mia Ramsey, PT, DPT

Dr. Ramsey has been a dedicated physical therapist since earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Northern Arizona University in 2002. With a comprehensive background in outpatient orthopedics, she thrives on the challenges presented by diverse patient cases. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Ramsey has been integrating dry needling into her practice since 2011. Her enthusiasm for this technique extends beyond her own practice; she actively shares her knowledge and passion as a dry needling instructor, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to enhance their skills and improve patient outcomes. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)


Andreas Remis, PT, DPT, OCS

Andreas Remis PT, DPT, OCS is currently an OMPT fellow-in-training at Duke. He has previously completed DPT training at the University of Nebraska, an orthopedic residency through the Mayo clinic, and fellowship training in Spine at University of Southern California. He has clinical interests in management of spine pathology, clinical research, and serves as a teaching assistant in Duke University's DPT program. 


Nicole Saulovich-Rogan, PT, DPT, OCS

Dr. Nicole Saulovich-Rogan accepted a direct commission into the Air Force in October 2019. She graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology, the California University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with her Masters in Exercise Science and Health Promotions, and then the University of Southern California with her Doctorate in Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy in 2019. Nicole then completed her Therapeutic Pain Specialist and Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist Certification and is currently a Fellow in the Operational Medical Readiness program. She has served stateside, overseas, and has completed one deployment.


Josiah Sault, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Josiah Sault is a physical therapist with 15 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics at UI Health in Chicago. He received his DPT from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2009 and completed his Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014. He has taught evaluation and management of temporomandibular disorders in DPT, residency, and fellowship programs. He is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.


John Seivert, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, member MINT

A 1984 graduate of NAU, John completed the Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy in 1991 and a Masters in Physiotherapy in 1996 from Curtin University Perth, Western Australia. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from EIM in 2012. John became a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (member, MINT) in 2024. John mentors for students in the EIM orthopedic residency and fellowship programs and the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship and Orthopaedic Residency Programs. In 2001 John founded Body Logic Physical Therapy in Grass Valley, California. He ran the practice for 24 years and has taught extensively for EIM since 2012 and Kaiser since 1996. John has now found his niche in working part-time at BLPT, teaching OMPT and primarily Motivational Interviewing (MI) around the world in the past two years. John and Roxanna Cohen, PT his wife of 16 years enjoy their time traveling, seeing their kids and grandkids, and staying active with cycling and photography.


Eric Shamus, DPT, PhD, CSCS

Dr. Shamus began as a faculty member at FGCU in 2011. Dr. Shamus earned his Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from Florida International University. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Biomechanical trauma from Lynn University/University of Miami, a PhD in Educational Leadership from Lynn University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Sage University. Dr. Shamus has participates in numerous national and international presentations as well as authoring multiple textbooks, chapters and journal articles. Dr. Shamus is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.


Mark Shepherd, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT

Mark Shepherd, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT Mark H. Shepherd is a physical therapist who holds both a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and a Doctorate of Science in Physical Therapy (DSc). He is board certified in orthopaedics (OCS) and is fellowship trained in orthopaedic manual physical therapy (FAAOMPT). He is the program director of Bellin College’s Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Program. Dr. Shepherd has published several peer reviewed articles and presented at both state and national conferences. He continues to practice in clinical care for the Johns Hopkins Health System in Maryland.


Taylor Shepherd, SPT, MS, CSCS

Taylor Shepherd is a Doctor of Physical Therapy student in the University of Utah’s hybrid pathway, Class of 2026. He holds a Master’s in Sports Performance and Conditioning and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, dedicated to optimizing human performance and recovery. Taylor has coached athletes at all levels, from youth to Olympians. As a DPT student, he is gaining hands-on experience through coursework, clinical rotations, and research. He also volunteers with adaptive athletes. Outside of his studies, he enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, playing basketball, and exploring national parks with his wife.


David Shirey, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Shirey serves as a staff physical therapist at Mayo Clinic Florida campus. He also serves as a faculty member in the Mayo Clinic Orthopaedic Residency Program. Dr. Shirey completed his Orthopaedic Residency in 2015 and board certification in 2016. He completed his Fellowship Program in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2018 and was granted Fellow status of AAOMPT in 2019.


Jason Silvernail, DPT, DSc, FAAOMPT

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a career military officer. I'm board-certified in orthopedics and fellowship-trained in manual therapy, and earned a Doctor of Science degree from Baylor University. I'm on active duty in the US Army at the rank of Colonel where I serve as a senior executive leader in the Army Medical Department. A leader, clinician, and researcher, I've published clinical commentaries and original research in the medical literature and I have a prominent professional presence online where I talk evidence-based practice, clinical care, communication, and health care leadership @jasonsilvernail. Laura Siviter, PT, DPT, DSc, MTC, FAAOMPT

Laura Siviter is a physical therapist with expertise in orthopaedic and manual rehabilitation. She is a fellow of AAOMP, an External Assessor and Accreditation Council Team Member of AAOMPT, and is core faculty in the orthopaedic curriculum at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She recently completed her DScPT with research interests on the topics of extremity rehabilitation and spinal mobility impairments.


Kristin Smith, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT, MAT

Dr. Kristin Smith has been part of the faculty experience team at EIM since 2022. She initially earned her Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from Quinnipiac University in 2000. She is an orthopedic certified specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties since 2014. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapy since 2018. She completed the post-professional DPT program through EIM in 2019. In 2021, she earned a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy from Bellin College. Dr. Smith has three children and loves spending time with her husband and them doing all the things they love including sports, theater, and music.


Steven Spinks, PT, DPT, PhD(c), OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Steven E. Spinks, PT, DPT, PhD(c), OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT is a co-founder and lead faculty member of AdaptEd. He received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Western Kentucky University. He received his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He completed a Postdoctoral Orthopaedic Residency and Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy with Upstream Rehabilitation Institute. He is also Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is currently working on his Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences with his dissertation interests in cervical spine considerations for dizziness and concussions. Dr. Spinks served on the board of directors in the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association as membership chair and has served in various leadership roles throughout volunteer organizations and through Upstream Rehabilitation. He is currently the Chief Assembly Representative for the West Central District of the Florida Physical Therapy Association. He actively participates in teaching continuing education courses with his primary focus on vestibular rehabilitation and concussion management through the American Institute of Balance since 2016. He is an assistant professor at Gannon University, leading the musculoskeletal series and advanced practices courses. His scholarship interests are vestibular and concussion management, orthopedic manual physical therapy, therapeutic exercise and dosage, and clinical integration of knowledge to practice.


Faith Stokes, PT, DPT, PRPC, OCS, WCS, FAAOMPT

Faith M. Stokes, PT, DPT, PRPC, OCS, WCS, FAAOMPT. Faith is a double board-certified orthopedic (OCS) and women’s health clinical specialist (WCS). Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) and holds an advanced Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC). Faith is the in-house coordinator for the Atrium Health Floyd Orthopaedic and Pelvic Health Residences and participates in curriculum development within both orthopedics and pelvic health as an educator and consultant. She is currently adjunct faculty for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program and Bellin College's Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) Fellowship.  Her full-time pelvic health practice is based out of Rome, GA.


Josh Subialka, PT DPT DSc OCS FAAOMPT

Dr. Josh Subialka, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT is a co-founder and lead faculty member of AdaptEd. He has 10 years of clinical experience and has been an assistant professor in the Midwestern University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Glendale, AZ since 2020 teaching in the areas of physical therapy evaluation, clinical reasoning, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and dry needling. He maintains part-time clinical practice in the MWU clinic while mentoring MWU DPT students. Josh has been teaching continuing education courses since 2017, leading comprehensive evaluation and management, manual therapy, clinical reasoning, and dry needling courses. He is a graduate of the College of St. Scholastica’s DPT program, as well as Upstream Rehab Institute’s (URI) orthopedic residency program, becoming an orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) in 2017. He later completed the URI orthopaedic manual physical therapy fellowship program, becoming a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) in 2018. Josh continues to be active in the URI fellowship program as senior lead faculty member of the research and scholarship program, and lead faculty in grand round cases emphasizing clinical reasoning. He continues to be an active mentor for fellows-in-training across the country. In 2021, Josh graduated from Bellin College with a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree, where he published works on patient expectations and manual therapy trials for low back pain in prestigious journals such as JOSPT. His current research interests are patient expectations and perceptions of physical therapy/manual therapy, dry needling, trial methodology and clinical applicability and translation of research, qualitative-driven research, and social determinants of health with accessibility to PT services. Josh frequently presents at local and national conferences and is an active member of the APTA and AAOMPT organizations.


Laura Thornton, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Thornton serves as a staff physical therapist for the University of Virginia Orthopaedic Center. She also is an orthopaedic residency faculty member of the Virginia Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute (VOMPTI). Dr. Thornton obtained her Board Certification in the area of Orthopaedics in 2017 and she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2021. She serves as the chair of the AAOMPT History committee.


Moyo Tillery, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Moyo Tillery is an Assistant Professor of Musculoskeletal Practice Management at Tufts University - Boston’s hybrid accelerated Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Moyo has over 14 years of experience in adult outpatient orthopedics and occupational health. She is Board-Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, and a member of the inaugural IFOMPT Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force.


Ryan Vickers, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Ryan Vickers, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine, before moving to Brooks Rehabilitation and completing their Orthopaedic Residency and Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship. He currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the Orthopaedic Residency Program for the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning. He also teaches several continuing education courses with the Brooks IHL and assists with their Clinical Practice Enhancement program. Ryan is an active member of both the APTA and AAOMPT, having presented at both state and national conferences. In 2025 he was awarded the Distinguished Mentor in a Residency/Fellowship Program by APTA’s Academy of Education. His clinical areas of interest include the management of concussions, headaches and migraines, TMD, and neck pain.


Mike Voight, PT, DHSc, SCS, OCS, ATC, CSCS, FAPTA

Dr. Voight is a tenured professor with Belmont University’s School of Physical Therapy in Nashville TN. and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Vanderbilt School of Medicine. He is the Co-Director of the Sports PT Residency program and Residency Director for the Belmont-Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance/Tennessee Titans sport residency. Dr. Voight has served as a Team Physical Therapist for teams in both the NFL and NBA, consulted with various teams in MLB, NHL, and the MLS, and the United States Olympic Committee's Sports Medicine Division. Dr. Voight maintains clinical practice specializing in orthopedic and sports related injuries.


Derek Vraa, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS, CMTPT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Vraa is a co-founder and Senior Faculty of the United States Air Force Tactical Sports and Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program, mentoring fellows, teaching coursework, and treating cadet athletes. Derek is a Board Certified Orthopedic and Sports Clinical Specialist, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, certified in dry-needling and completed his Fellowship training through Regis University. He has presented at APTA Combined Sections Meeting, AAOMPT annual Conference, and the United States Air Force Advanced Physical Therapy Training Courses. Additionally, Derek serves as the ACOMPTE EA Co-Coordinator, and has served as the AAOMPT Academic/Clinical Faculty Special Interest Group Vice-President.


Maureen K. Watkins, PT, DPT, OCS, MBA, LMT, Cert MSK- US

Dr. Watkins has worked in the Boston area in acute care, orthopedics, and homecare for over 30 years. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at Northeastern University, teaching musculoskeletal, pelvic health, health administration, and integumentary content. Her research focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning with ultrasound imaging. Dr. Watkins has presented on Ultrasonography at many international and national professional conferences. She earned her BSPT and tDPT at Northeastern and an MBA from Anna Maria College. She is certified in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging, Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics and is a licensed massage therapist.


Laura Wenger, PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Laura Wenger has been involved in educational outcomes research in Physical Therapy since 2021. Her clinical training includes an orthopedic residency and fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy, along with certification in Hybrid Learning. Since 2020, she has taught in entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy programs, specializing in hybrid education. Additionally, she has served as a fellowship mentor and educator in hybrid post-professional Physical Therapy training since 2016. While actively engaged in research and full-time teaching, she also practices part-time in a rural outpatient orthopedic private practice.


Matthew Will, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Matthew Will is a physical therapist in the United States Air Force. He graduated with his Physical Therapy degree in 2018 and subsequently worked in outpatient orthopedics until joining the Air Force in 2021. Previously, he served in leadership roles as a Human Performance Element Chief and deployed in support of various contingency operations. Currently he is pursuing fellowship training in the United States Air Force Operational Readiness Fellowship. Additionally, he is fluent in Spanish and has spent time overseas teaching English in Spanish-speaking locations.


Victoria Williams, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Victoria Williams, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Florida A&M University and relocated to Jacksonville where she completed her orthopaedic residency and Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship with Brooks Rehabilitation. Victoria assists with teaching the Clinical Practice Enhancement program through Brooks IHL and has served as a clinical instructor for DPT students. Her areas of special interest include the foot/ankle and pelvic floor dysfunction.


John Woolf, PT, ATC, COMT, PhD

John Woolf, PT, ATC, COMT, PhD, is an assistant professor at the University of Arizona's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He was the Director of Sports Medicine for the University of Arizona and a former private practice owner. His content expertise is focused on the application of a biopsychosocial approach to healthcare. With a PhD in Performance Psychology, he researches healthcare provider and patient performance and the mechanisms of the therapeutic relationship.Through his company, Patient Success Systems, he trains healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes by delivering relationship-centered care.


Katie Zisk, PT, DPT

Dr. Zisk is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from The George Washington University in 2016 and became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2019. She was a member of the inaugural cohort of Northwestern University's Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, Research, and Education from 2020-2021. Currently, Dr. Zisk is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill Division of Physical Therapy, where she teaches Evidence Based Practice and post-professional courses and is a mentor in the orthopedic residency.
